The world of DV / SA prevention is chock full of possibilities, both in what programming can look like but also in the positive impact violence prevention can have! When violence prevention is guided by public health approaches, anti‑oppressive frameworks, and community organizing, it becomes more than a set of strategies. It becomes an opportunity to innovate, strengthen community relationships, and introduce programming that communities may not have previously accessed or engaged with. But what does that mean in practice? What can and does violence prevention actually look like when we get down to brass tacks?
Join WSCADV / SA Prevention Staff and preventionists from across WA state as we explore different examples of violence prevention programming. From leveraging social media for narrative change, to working collaboratively with other local resource providers, to policy change; the world of prevention is vast and vibrant and full of possibilities! Let's explore what's possible together!
