It examines historical trauma’s legacy and offers culturally-rooted healing approaches grounded in Indigenous values and practices. Through real-life stories, expert interviews, and interactive exercises, participants gain a profound understanding of the challenges, resilience, and pathways to healing for Native women.

Technical Assistance

WA-SAST Contributors offer technical assistance to agencies, including AI/AN, Indigenous, and Tribal agencies, that want support with training, tools, systems, or resource development. This may include help identifying the right training pathway, improving internal processes and tools, or exploring ways to strengthen agency capacity.

Technical assistance requests submitted through WA-SAST can be directed to WomenSpirit, one of the WA-SAST Contributors.

Who is WomenSpirit?

WomenSpirit envisions a nation where Native women are treated with honor and respect, where she is protected under the law and her personal sovereignty is never compromised.

WomenSpirit is the official Department of Justice and Office on Violence Against Women Tribal Coalition. We serve the needs of tribal programs and provide direct services to those victims that tribal programs do not/cannot serve through its program areas.

WomenSpirit is the subject matter expert on matters related to ending violence against AI/AN women and their families. We provide assessment and evaluation of Tribes/Tribal programs relating to domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, dating violence, and sex trafficking.

WomenSpirit is a valued Contributor to WA-SAST and we appreciate the opportunity to share their work with the entire state here.

Looking for resources and training for AI / AN, Indigenous, and Tribal affiliated services?

WA-SAST can help users find organizations, trainings, resources, and related content across the broader victim services field. For resources that are specific to tribal communities, Indigenous advocacy, and culturally grounded responses to violence, WomenSpirit Coalition is both an important WA-SAST Contributor and companion resource. Their website offers resource guides, educational workbooks, and training materials focused on issues such as domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, sex trafficking, child sexual assault, and missing Indigenous persons, alongside broader support for tribal programs through training and technical assistance.

Grounded in Community Leadership

In addition to the community specific resources available through WA-SAST, AI/AN, Indigenous, and Tribal agencies are encouraged to utilize the full suite of training courses, resources, and events to benefit their agencies, staff, and communities.

If you see anything missing, please consider leaving us feedback. We are excited to create more tools and resources for service providers, agency leaders, and the communities we all serve.
